The SOSS Invisible Closer

No more unsightly, boxy closures that distract from aesthetics. Enjoy savings because the SOSS Invisible Closer acts as a hinge as well as a closer. Excellent versatility. Ideal anywhere moisture, dirt, sound or other contaminants are of concern. The Invisible Closer...Testing the limits of imagination. The SOSS Invisible Closer has a fully adjustable tension spring. Invisible Barrel Hinges

Our line of barrel hinges offers the user more variety and easier installation. Made of solid brass with brass links. Easily installed, no mortising, just drill to the proper size and insert the hinge. Totally invisible from either side when the door is closed. Expandable wedge design gives adjustment for secure fastening. Hinge opens to 180°. Made of solid brass and solid quality from SOSS. Not for load bearing applications.

Easily Installed
Secure mounting in the wooden door or panel is achieved by tightening the tensioning screw. To accommodate high loading, the cylinders can be additionally secured by installing a chipboard or wood screw in the groove on the exposed end

The Soss Quadrant Hinge
Ideal for Humidors and Jewelry Cases

Constructed of solid brass, the SOSS Quadrant Hinge is now available for woodworkers or manufacturers of high quality wood products. The hinge is inlayed into the case or frame making it absolutely invisible when the case is closed, yet good looking when open.

Available in either a high polish brass or bronze finish, the SOSS Quadrant Hinge adds a custom touch to that special wood project.

SOSS Invisible Fire-Rated Hinges

Soss now offers a complete line of fire-rated invisible hinges and closures. Whatever the door or opening, there is a Soss hinge for you. Whether your door is made of wood or metal, rated 20 minutes or 3 hours, there now is a Soss fire-rated hinge that will comply and still give you the "uniquely invisible"hinge that you expect from Soss.

* The #418F Soss hinge (not with closer) is for use on 90 minute wood faced doors constructed to Georgia Pacific specifications utilizing 2" No. 10 screws; the hinge style must be a minimum of 2 3/16" wide. This may be made up from two pieces of 1" firestop and 3/16" of wood. The #418IC (with closer) can be used on a 20 minute wood faced door or a 3 hour rated steel door.

#420
The Soss Invisible #420 hinge and the #420 closer are specifically designed with square edges for metal doors.

The Underwriters Laboratories labeled #420 Soss Invisible Hinge and Soss Invisible closer can be used on hollow metal, sheet metal, tin clad and steel composite swinging type fire doors and frames rated up to and including 3 hours. Additionally, they can be used on 20 minute rated wood doors and frames.

Allow no more than 20" of door height and 60 pounds per hinge or 55 pounds per closer.

#418
The Underwriters Laboratories Labeled #418 Soss Invisible hinge and #418 closer can be used on hollow metal, sheet metal, tin clad, and steel composite swinging type fire doors and frames rated up to and including 3 hours. They also can be used on 20 minute rated wood doors and frames.

Additionally, they can be used on wood/plastic composite doors constructed with Georgia Pacific FSM-1 or FSM-2 banding for a rating up to and including 90 minutes.

Allow no more than 20" of door height and 60 pounds per hinge or 55 pounds per closer. Special jamb and door preparation required.

#218 and #220
The Underwriters Laboratories labeled #220 and #218 Soss Invisible hinges and closures can be used on hollow metal, sheet metal, tin clad, steel composite, or wood core swinging type fire doors and frames with 20 minute rating. Allow no more than 20" of door height and 60 pounds per hinge or 55 pounds per closer.

Notes:

Fire rated hinges and closures should not be used on doors that can be held open.
Special doors and Jamb preparation required for all hardware.
